Users with an active PlayStation Plus membership can access an exclusive Uncharted 4 multiplayer beta test via the series-spanning compilation Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, which launches in October.
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection collects the first three entries in Naughty Dog’s Uncharted series in a new package optimized for the PlayStation 4. Featured games boast improved texture detail and a 1080p presentation that maintains a consistent 60 frames-per-second throughout.
The collection also adds new unlockable trophies and a Photo Mode, allowing players to capture memorable moments from throughout the franchise.
Early adopters who pre-order Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection will receive the digital “Nathan Drake Pack,” which offers in-game perks like alternate character outfits and new weapon skins. The pre-order package also includes an exclusive PlayStation 4 system theme.
While few details regarding the upcoming Uncharted 4 beta test have been announced, Sony notes that playable maps and modes will be announced in the weeks leading up to the release of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection.
Originally released for the PlayStation 3 in 2007, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune set high standards for cinematic third-person shooter gameplay on Sony’s seventh-generation console. A sequel, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves introduced a multiplayer mode in 2009, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception wrapped up the trilogy in 2011. Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection includes the single-player campaigns from all three games, along with a large quantity of associated downloadable content released throughout the last several years.
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection premieres on October 9. The Uncharted 4 multiplayer beta test kicks off on December 4, and extends through December 13. A demo version of The Nathan Drake Collection will hit the PlayStation Network on September 29.
