Both became available to purchase on the Google Store in late October 2015, in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Japan, and the United States. Since then, there have been various promotions lowering prices, making the phones an even bigger temptation. Here’s the latest buying news on Google’s newest Nexus line.

Valentine’s Day promotion lowers prices
Google wants you to say “I love you” with a new Nexus phone, and maybe a Huawei Watch as well. In preparation for Valentine’s Day, it has cut the price of the Nexus 5X to $300, down from the original $380. You also get to choose a free case to go with it. The Nexus 6P has been reduced, going down to $460 from $500, plus Google will give you $50 towards the purchase of a lovely Huawei Watch.
In the U.K., the prices remain at £300 for the Nexus 5X and £450 for the Nexus 6P. However, buy a Nexus 5X and Google will bundle it with a new Chromecast, plus £20 of Google Play credit. There are no offers available on the Nexus 6P. However, in Europe the Nexus 5X’s price has been cut to 350 euros, and the Nexus 6P to 550 euros. All these prices are for models with the lowest storage capacity, and the offer runs from January 26 to February 12. Visit the Play Store here to see the offers.

The Nexus 5X originally started at $380 for 16GB or $430 for 32GB, but prices fell to $350 and up in mid-January. Project Fi uses T-Mobile and Sprint networks, moving automatically to the best network depending on speed and reliability.
If you’re worried about damaging the new phone, Google has a new warranty service for U.S. customers, called Nexus Protect. It offers two years of coverage for mechanical breakdown and two years of protection from accidental damage. It is available for $70 on the Nexus 5X or $90 on the Nexus 6P.
