Sanho touts Hyper iShowFast as world’s fastest flash drive for iOS devices

Sanho Corporation, the company behind last year’s Hyper iStick, has created its next-generation flash drive for iOS devices and computers: the iShowFast, which uses USB 3.0 to reach speeds that are up to 14 times faster than the original iStick or SanDisk’s iXpand, the company says.

With its USB 3.0 upgrade, the iShowFast can read at a speed of up 140MB per second, and write at up to 45MB/s. On the Lightning connector side, the stick can read at 30MB/s and write at 20MB/s. The iShowFast offers password protection for security, and makes it easy to transfer files, and to share music, photos, videos, and documents with computers and other iOS devices. It also works as a backup solution for iPods, iPhones, and iPads, and it’s faster than uploading to a cloud server.

You can even stream media from the drive. All these functions and more can be done through the iShowFast iOS app; on a computer, you can just use your operating system’s file management system to copy files to and from. The battery-free design runs on low power consumption when plugged in, and doesn’t require charging, the company says.

The iShowFast takes design cues from Apple’s iOS products and has obtained the Apple-certified “Made for iPod, iPhone and iPad” label. The flash drive uses the slide design introduced with the original iStick. The slide pushes the USB and Lightning connector out on opposite ends of the stick.

Hyper is running a campaign on Indiegogo, and will offer the USB drive for 40 percent off the retail price. The campaign offers four models: 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, and 129GB, which will be priced from $79 to $249 via Indiegogo; there will also be early-bird specials. It is expected to ship in November, which suggests Sanho already has these things produced and is using Indiegogo to market the product
