Nikon has just relaunched its first ever SLR camera — in the form of a Nanoblock kit.
The camera giant partnered with Nanoblock maker Kawada to release the set, which features the Nikon F film camera that the company released way back in 1959, PetaPixel reported.
Nanoblocks, which have been around since 2008, are similar to Lego only the pieces are smaller, allowing for more intricate and diminutive creations.
If you’re the kind of person who can lose their composure over a 60-piece jigsaw puzzle, best you steer clear of Nikon’s Nanoblock kit, which includes around a thousand bricks. OK, there are instructions, but unless your Japanese is up to scratch, you may have difficulties.
That’s right, for the time being at least, the product is only available in Japan, though it could of course turn up on other sites like eBay before long. Expect to pay around $33.
As you can see from the images of the completed model, it’s a pretty nifty representation of the original camera. All we need now is for someone to modify it to get it working like a real one, a bit like this fancy creation made almost entirely of Lego.
The Nikon F was popular with pro shooters throughout the 1960s before being succeeded by the F2 in 1972.
