The publisher also announced a remake of Q Entertainment’s rhythm-driven shooter Rez that features upgraded graphics and support for PlayStation VR.
Sony reports that Rez Infinite for the PlayStation 4 is “the ultimate version of Sega’s classic psychedelic rail-shooter adventure Rez, fully remastered and evolved, including VR support and additional new content, all by members of the original development team.” Details regarding the game’s expanded content are not yet known, and a release date was not announced.
Also on tap for Sony’s virtual reality headset is Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin, a new series entry that will be available exclusively for PlayStation VR. Following up on the events of the original Psychonauts, Rhombus of Ruin will introduce narrative elements and plot threads that will be fleshed out in the upcoming sequel Psychonauts 2.
Other PlayStation VR games announced at PlayStation Experience include The Modern Zombie Taxi Co , an off-kilter taxi sim in which players ferry the undead across town in the wake of a successful zombie apocalypse. Another unconventional title coming to PlayStation VR is 100ft Robot Golf, an over-the-top urban golfing game from No Goblin, creator of 2014’s multiplatform action-puzzler Roundabout.
Publisher Bandai Namco announced the return of its Ace Combat series at PlayStation Experience, revealing that Ace Combat 7 will support Sony’s VR headset. Ace Combat 7 marks a return to form for the franchise following years of middling spin-offs and mobile adaptations, and promises “photorealistic visuals, intense dog-fighting action, a multitude of authentic and futuristic aircraft, [and] an immersive storyline.”
PlayStation VR is set to launch in the first half of 2016.
