Tablets and smartphones nowadays may have been injected with good design DNA, but, more often than not, they won’t give you the benefit of added grip. This is part of the reason why people buy cases, and this is where Tabulate, a case that grants extra gripability, comes in.
The spawn of one Devansh Shah of India, Tabulate isn’t exactly the prettiest case you’ll see, but it makes up for that by emphasizing functionality. For one, the case utilizes a cross-stitch pattern on the back using fabric-like material. You simply slip your hands through Tabulate and properly hold on to your tablet or smartphone without fear of it falling out of your hands.
This cross-stitch pattern can also be used to store several smaller objects, such as pens, cables, and even a fork. We mention a fork, because it can be used in conjunction with the cross-stitch pattern as a pseudo-stand. You’re not limited to just using a fork, however, as the pattern grants Tabulate the ability to be hung up or even used to turn your tablet or smartphone into a fancy dashboard.
The most interesting aspect of the Tabulate, however, is how it’s created. According to Shah, the case is split into two portions: The body that provides the border, and the band that provides the cross-stitch pattern. The body is 3D-printed and the files are free, so you can print your own Tabulate case.

Early birds get the case for 50 percent off, but regardless of the tier, you can choose either a black or white body and more than 20 band options. In addition, you can pick up optional accessories that Shah will also 3D-print, such as a wall mount, stand, bike mount, hook, and car mount.
