The new teaser is very limited in what it actually reveals, but it’s interesting — not to mention a little creepy — nonetheless. What fans get is a close-up of an eye while eerie music plays. At first the eye is normal, but when it closes and reopens, it has suddenly undergone technological enhancements. With the shuttering of the lid, the music also goes away, only to be replaced by what sounds like deep breaths.
The addicting sci-fi series centers on Sarah Manning (played by Tatiana Maslany), a woman who discovers she has a number of clone “sisters” out there. The series was renewed for a 10-episode fourth season in the spring and will continue to follow Sarah as she tries to track down an ally and finds herself involved with a dangerous new enemy.
“We’re thrilled to be moving forward with season four of the Orphan Black saga,” said co-creators John Fawcett and Graeme Manson when the renewal was announced. “We’re extremely excited about where our story lines are going, and look forward to riding the rollercoaster with our amazing fans.”
The series also stars Jordan Gavaris, Maria Doyle Kennedy, and Skyler Wexler, among others. Orphan Black is a Peabody Award winner, and Maslany has won two Critics’ Choice Television Awards, a TCA Award, and two Canadian Screen Awards for her work on the show, not to mention been nominated for multiple other honors. The series is produced by Temple Street Productions in association with BBC America and Space.
Orphan Black season four is set to premiere in April 2016.
