Orange Is the New Black's season 4 trailer takes some dark turns

Litchfield Prison never lacks for excitement, whether developments be good or bad. That will hold true in Orange Is the New Black season 4, but this time around, expect more of the bad. Netflix unveiled the new trailer today, and it looks like this could very well be the most intense season yet.

While photos from season 4 have already revealed some of the tension to come, the trailer really cements it. Its two-minute-20-second run is full of loaded looks between characters, faces filled with agony and fear, and hints of danger to our favorite group of inmates. “I do not like where this is heading,” we hear at one point.

As always, there are light moments, but the hefty dose of darkness definitely counteracts it. “I’ve been in Litchfield for a while now,” says Piper (played by Taylor Schilling), “and I have started to feel unsafe lately.”

We can’t blame her. Not only does she get a scary threat in the preview, Litchfield appears to be going through some massive changes. The facility becomes a for-profit prison, gains 100 inmates, and brings in new correctional officers, so the delicate balance is bound to be thrown off.

Signs of instability are apparent, to say the least. “I’m kind of scared,” says a guard at one point. Even more drastically, we see Litchfield’s emergency service team, clad in riot gear, storm the prison with weapons out. No, it doesn’t look like a good time to be an inmate there.

“Do you know the difference between pain and suffering?” says Pennsatucky (Taryn Manning) toward the end of the trailer, as if the tone weren’t ominous enough. “Pain’s always there, but suffering is a choice. I’m really tired of walking around like a dog.”

It all goes down when Orange Is the New Black season 4 hits Netflix on June 17.

Stranger Things 4 trailer teases dark times on the horizon

Are you familiar with the small town of Hawkins, Indiana, and its connection to the Upside Down? The new Stranger Things 4 trailer has arrived, and it's proving just how little we've truly learned in the first three seasons. The one thing we do know is that the evil from the Upside Down is not some abstract being. It has a voice, and it has a plan. And for the first time, we truly get to see what it looks like in an almost human form.

There's not a lot in the trailer that sheds light on specific plot points. But we do see Eleven approached by the same organization that once gave her powers. And the man has a warning that Eleven can't ignore. Humanity can't prevail against the Upside Down without her, and she doesn't have any powers left. Meanwhile in Hawkins, Max's graveside visit to her brother is both confession and revelation. But is Max being attacked by something, or has she come into her own powers?

Ruth is out for revenge in Ozark season 4, part 2 teaser

For most of its critically acclaimed run, Netflix's Ozark has focused on Marty (Jason Bateman) and Wendy Byrde (Laura Linney) as they found themselves pulled deeper and deeper into the criminal underworld. But in the first look at Ozark's final episodes, Julia Garner's Ruth Langmore takes the spotlight away from the Byrde family. In the first part of Ozark season 4, Ruth vowed to get her revenge on would-be drug lord Javier "Javi" Elizondro (Alfonso Herrera). She may get what she wants, but there's no guarantee that she will make it out alive.

Netflix has dropped the first teaser trailer for Ozark season 4, part 2, which is narrated by Ruth, who shares her belief that her family is cursed. The Langmores are a criminal family, and Ruth doesn't pretend that they're innocent, or even that she is. Ruth has actively taken part in the family business. But after Javier murdered her cousin, Wyatt Langmore (Charlie Tahan), and her business partner, Darlene Snell (Lisa Emery), Ruth told the Byrdes that they would have to kill her to stop her from avenging her loss.
