Neither you nor I can physically attend the Tesla annual meeting. The only people who can enter are Tesla shareholders or invited guests. And to prove who you are you’ll need either an invitation or documents that prove you’re a shareholder, plus a photo ID. But anyone can watch the livestream. And why would you want to? Well, first on the agenda will be some financial stuff and a few votes, according to Electrek. That part shouldn’t take long and likely won’t interest too many (except investors). But it gets better.
Next on the agenda is a talk by Tesla Motors CEO and product architect Elon Musk. Stand by for Musk to make announcements and possibly offer other interesting tidbits about the company and its products during his address, which is expected to be short.
Probably the most interesting and entertaining part of the meeting will be the Q&A period with Musk. Some and perhaps all of the questions have been predetermined, selected by the Tesla Motor Club forum. And while most questions will center on Tesla models, existing and announced, we can expect other questions relating to the Gigafactory (key to hitting production numbers with the Model 3), Powerwall energy storage products, and possibly Hyperloop. Those are also Tesla Motors products — in the case of Hyperloop, an area of interest and research. SpaceX is a separate company so questions about it won’t likely be among the preselected list.
The Tesla 2016 annual shareholders meeting will be held at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California. The meeting is today, May 31st, at 2:00 p.m. PT. But you can livestream it from your home or office. Take notes to share around the digital water cooler and don’t forget the popcorn.
