STM Dux for Surface Pro 3 ($47+)
The Dux case only weighs a third of a pound, but will protect your device from drops as far up as a meter. It also works with a Microsoft Type Cover or Touch Cover, and features a clear back panel that lets you show off the Pro 3’s excellent design. According to ST, the Dux is designed to be fully ventilated, too, so the Surface Pro 3 will be able to cool itself easily under heavy work loads. Not only that, but like some other Surface Pro 3 cases, the Dux will work with the kickstand on your device, ensuring that you can still stand up the Surface Pro 3 with ease.
Manvex Leather Case ($18)
Looking for something a little classier than the STM Dux? Manvex has you covered. This case is built from leather and offers a dual-tone look that will make your Surface Pro 3 look like a classic book. The cover is available in five different colors to fit your personal style, whether you prefer black, pink, blue, brown, or red. Sure, some of those colors look a little more classic than the others, but even the bright cases look classy. While it doesn’t really let you use the kickstand on the Surface Pro, it does have its own kickstand to keep your tablet upright, which is necessary in many situations. The case is also pretty cheap, coming in at less than $20 through most retailers.
Deluxe Lizard-Textured Padfolio ($88)
This case essentially functions as a work-centric folder, one that you can use to stow your Pro 3. It’s perfect for the working type on the go, and has a ton of storage space for all of your files and business needs. The case has space for an A4-sized notebook, the Pro 3, a smartphone, pens, business cards, and other miscellaneous things you might need. It’s not the sleekest case around — if all you want to do is protect your Surface Pro 3, then you’ll probably want to look elsewhere — but it’s great for consolidating all your necessities into a handy portfolio. While it’s not super slim, it does look pretty classy given its microfiber design and scaly appearance.
Urban Armor Gear Case ($54+)
The cases we’ve talked about so far are nice, but they’re not the most rugged cases around. This one, however, might be. If you’re looking solely to protect your Surface Pro 3, this might be the way to do it. The Urban Armor Gear case is compatible with the Microsoft Type Cover, and while it certainly looks tough, it’s also relatively lightweight. While it doesn’t let you use Microsoft’s kickstand, it does have a kickstand of its own, which can be set to five different positions. Need proof that this case is durable? Urban Armor says it meets military drop-test standards when used with the Microsoft Type Cover — so you shouldn’t have to worry too much about your Surface Pro 3 cracking during everyday use.
Evecase Messenger Case Tote Bag ($25)
The Surface Pro 3 is a pretty sleek device, but it’s still too big to fit in your pocket. If you want to carry your Surface Pro around the same way you would a laptop, you’re going to need this tote bag, which includes a comfortable shoulder strap and handle to make your device as portable as possible. The case can also match your style — it’s available in black, blue, purple, or pink — and includes a number of pockets for stowing power cables, your phone, and other accessories. This is more of a bag than anything else, so you won’t use it while you’re using your Surface Pro 3. However, if portability is your primary concern, than the Evecase tote bag might be the right choice for you.
