2012 Range Rover Evoque

We gave you a quick look at the new Evoque (Starting at $45,000) earlier in the summer and now the company has officially unveiled the production car that we’ll be seeing in showrooms next year. The new Evoque is essentially a Range Rover GT, they’ve packed in a fuel-efficient 2.0 liter turbocharged Si4 engine that delivers 240 horsepower to the asphalt, getting you from point a to point b quickly and with a lot more fuel left in the tank. Gadget-wise you’ll find a whole host of technology from a 825 watt, 17 speaker Meridian sound system to a Surround Camera System that features five digital cameras that give you a 360 degree view around your car from your touchscreen display.Link

Lucid reveals secret behind electric sedan’s 517-mile range
Lucid Air in a wind tunnel

Characterized by a large dose of humility rather than thick slabs of corporate jingoism, Lucid is an unusual player in the electric car arena. Instead of making boastful promises about the future, the company mostly keeps to itself and speaks only when there's something significant to show.

Lucid took rivals by surprise with the electric Air announcement: A luxury electric car that boasts 1,000 horsepower, the Air recently obtained an enormous 517-mile range from a third-party testing company. So much for "range anxiety." I was even more shocked when I found out the company achieved that figure using a 113-kilowatt-hour battery pack. Intrigued, I called Lucid's engineering department to discover its secret. Here's what I found out.
Rooted in physics
"Battery technology improvement is going to be incremental, unless there's a breakthrough with solid-state or some other technology. In order for us, as a small startup, to make a statement, we knew deep inside that we had to get the range right," explained Emad Dlala, a technology fellow at Lucid, in an exclusive interview with Digital Trends.

Audi’s Q4 Sportback E-Tron will have customizable LED headlamps, 279-mile range
2020 Audi Q4 Sportback E-Tron concept

Audi's plan to launch more than 20 electric cars globally by 2025 is definitely ambitious, but it's also realistic, and the models that will help it achieve its goal are gradually coming to light. One is a close-to-production concept named the Q4 Sportback E-Tron that's closely related to the Q4 E-Tron introduced at the 2019 edition of the Geneva Auto Show.

Normally, I would have been able to enjoy an in-person look at the Q4 Sportback E-Tron during an auto show -- but shows in Geneva, Detroit, New York, and even Paris were canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The unveiling took place online, which is the new norm, and Audi design boss Marc Lichte tuned in to digitally present the concept.
