The 2016 BMW 7 Series has had its fair share of leaks ahead of its official reveal. It started with spy shots of the sedan, along with reports of its powertrain options.
Now BMW in Austria has accidentally revealed the new flagship sedan’s pricing and packaging information online. While the details pertain to Austria specifically, much of the packages and engine options will carry over to global markets. As for the pricing, best not to panic.
Three engines will be available at launch, all paired with rear-wheel drive standard, and xDrive all-wheel drive available as an option.The BMW 730d and 730d xDrive will use a 3.0-liter inline-six diesel engine with 257 horsepower. The 740i will get a new 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder gas engine with 317 hp on tap. The range-topping 750i will utilize a familiar 4.4 liter twin-turbocharged V8 devloping 444 hp.
Thirteen exterior paint colors are available: Alpine White, Black College, Black Sapphire, Carbon Black, Glacier Silver, Cashmere Silver, Sophisto Grey, Imperial Blue, Magellan Grey, Singapore Grey, Mineral White, Arctic Grey Brilliant Effect, and Jatoba. Multi-spoke wheel designs will range from 17 to 20 inches.
The Austrian site’s online configurator also reveals a few packages, including the M-Sport Package, Driving Assistance Plus, adaptive full LED headlights, Pure Excellence interior and Alcantara headliner.
Now to the part where I’ll list Austrian market pricing, and unless you live in that region and are considering purchasing the new 7 Series, you shouldn’t overreact. The 730d starts at €100,445 ($111,530) and the 740i kicks things off at €107,690 ($119,585). Finally, the 750i with xDrive commands €137,935 ($153,100).
The 2016 BMW 7 Series will be officially revealed online on June 10.
