Land Rover has announced it will travel to next week’s Geneva Motor Show to introduce the modestly updated 2016 Range Rover Evoque.
The 2016 Evoque features a new front bumper with bigger air ducts, a more aerodynamic rear spoiler and three new alloy wheel designs. Additionally, it stands out as the first Land Rover model to be offered with full-LED adaptive headlights.
Following the path blazed by Mercedes-Benz, Land Rover lets Evoque buyers choose from two radiator grille designs. One has twin horizontal slats that create a refined look, while the other has motorsport-inspired mesh inserts.
Inside, the Evoque benefits from new seats, redesigned door panels and a more modern-looking instrument cluster. The biggest update is found on the center console, where the base 2016 Evoque is fitted with an eight-inch touch screen that runs Land Rover’s InControl Touch infotainment system. In the United States, the 2016 Evoque retains the 2015 model’s 2.0-liter turbo four that channels 240 horsepower to the drive wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission. On the Old Continent, the Evoque gains a Jaguar XE-sourced four-cylinder turbodiesel engine offered with either 150 or 180 horsepower.
Taking the 2016 Evoque off the beaten path will be easier thanks to a new-for-2016 All-Terrain Progress Control function capable of maintaining a pre-determined speed between 1.1 and 19 mph. Other new driving aids include Lane-Keeping Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking and Driver Drowsing Monitor.
The 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque is scheduled to go on sale across the nation next fall. Land Rover has not announced how much of a premium it will carry over the 2015 model.
