Acer is expanding its line of Gemstone Blue Aspire notebook with three new models, the 15.6-inch Aspire AS5536, the 17.3-inch Aspire AS7735Z, and the multimedia-intensive 15.6-inch Aspire 5739G. All three computers feature Acer’s Gemstone Blue design and are intended to appeal to mainstream computer users, from students all the way up to business professionals and media-hungry mobile users.

“The latest Aspire notebooks feature excellent price/performance and mainstream entertainment in a mobile PC that delivers significant value for their investment,” said Acer America’s senior manager of product marketing Ray Sawall, in a statement. “Consumers are increasingly selecting notebooks as their primary device. As proven by our latest Aspire notebooks, we recognize that value-based mobile PCs need to offer appealing aesthetics as well as great performance and multimedia capabilities.”

All three notebooks ship with Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 and sport a PowerSave key that lets customer quickly access power settings to let users extend battery life—or burn fast and hot—without having to navigate innumerable individual settings. They all also offer an integrated Web cam and HDMI output for pushing content to bigger screens.

The Aspire AS5536 sports a 15.6-inch display driven by ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics, an 2.1 GHz AMD Athlon 64 X2 QL-64 dual-core CPU, 3 GB of RAM, a 320 GB hard drive, an 8× DVD burner, and 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, along with a multi-gesture trackpad. The Aspire AS7735Z bumps up to a 17.3-inch “HD+” display, but sports Intel GMA 4500HD graphics: it also comes with 4 GB of RAM, a 250 GB hard drive, an 8× DVD burner, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, and an Intel Pentium T4200 processor running at 2 GHz. Pricing for the AS5536 starts at $479.99, while the A7735Z starts at $599.99, and they’re available now.

Bumping the specs a little further, the Aspire AS5739G moves back to a 1,366 by 768-pixel 15.3-inch display, but packs in a 2.1 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, Nvidia GeForce GT130M graphics with 1 GB of video memory, a 250 GB hard drive, 4 GB of RAM, an 8× Blu-ray player/DVD burner, and 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi at prices starting at $749.99. The AS5739G should be available by the end of June.

At CES 2020, Acer has announced its largest and most impressive monitor yet, the Predator CG552K.

If a 34-inch ultrawide panel still leaves you feel constrained, you might be the demographic for Acer's new 55-inch OLED gaming monitor. Though striking with its television-sized panel, the Predator CG552K isn't the first gaming-focused display to top 50 inches.
