Acer Desktop LCD Monitors Grow 87%

Acer achieved the highest increase among the top five vendors with 87% quarter over quarter, which was well above the industry average of 26%.

Acer jumped from the Q3 2004 rank of No. 6 to the No. 4 spot in Q4 2004 due mainly to significant growth in unit shipments into EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and North America. In the North American market, Acer doubled their marketshare from 1.8% to 3.7% during the quarter to become the 7th leading provider in the region.

Of the mainstream LCD monitor sizes, the 19-inch LCDs grew the most with 47.1% growth over the previous quarter, while the 17-inch category also showed considerable growth rising 39.9% over the same period.

Acer just announced three new OLED gaming monitors at Computex 2024, which isn't too surprising. Event after event, we see a range of new Predator monitors packing a recent panel, but for a price that just isn't competitive with the rest of the market. Pricing isn't changing, but one of Acer's new monitors might get it back to the legendary status is once held.
