Acer is trying to draw in the gamers with yet another entry in its Predator lineup, this time with the Z35 monitor sporting a 35-inch UltraWide curved panel, G-Sync support, and a refresh rate of up to 200Hz if you don’t mind the stress of overclocking your PC.
Acer claims the Predator Z35 offers a contrast ratio of 3,000:1 as well as a brightness of 300 cd/m2. Additionally, the display covers 100 per cent of the sRGB color space, meaning it may even be worth considering for artists and designers.
Whether you’re a gamer or just looking to get a high-end curved monitor, the Z35 brings plenty to the table. There’s the underglow ambient lighting, which can be adjusted on the monitor itself, the stand with -5 to +25 degree ergonomic tilt, as well as height adjustments (up to five inches), a blue light filter, and built-in 9W speakers donning Dolby DTS. There’s even a hole specifically designed for cable management, so that your desk doesn’t get flooded with cords.
Input-wise, there’s both HDMI and DisplayPort 1.2 for video, and four USB 3.0 ports if you don’t want to plug accessories into your PC directly.
“We’re thrilled to bring the Predator Z35 to our customers in the United States,” declared Acer product manager Charlotte Chen. “This state-of-the-art gaming display offers one of the most exciting visual gaming scenarios available today. We believe the combination of super smooth action play, lifelike images, and powerful audio will put this on the wish list of even the most ardent gaming enthusiasts.”
Keep in mind this is essentially a more budget-friendly version of the X34 before it, as the specs appear to be pretty close aside from the upgrade in size and compromise in resolution. While Acer boasted a resolution of 3,440 x 1,440p with the X34, the Z35 isn’t quite as sharp at 2,560 x 1,080p. For $1,100, however, it might be worth it for you to save a couple hundred bucks.
If you like the idea of a curved display and don’t mind being limited to 1,080p, you can expect Acer’s Predator 35 to arrive later this month.
