Belkin Router Packs Integrated Display

If you’re the kind of person who needs a GPS unit in your car to know exactly where you are at all times, thermometers in every room of the house to know exactly how hot it is, and a bike computer that can tell you exactly how many times you pedal every minute, you may be a fan of Belkin’s latest wireless router. The N1 Vision 802.11n router has a built-in in display to let you know exactly what’s going on with your Internet connection, without ever plugging in a separate computer.

The Belkin N1 has an unusual upright design with an LCD panel built into the side. Using the panel, users can keep an eye on their download and upload speeds, network bandwidth usage, the number of connected devices, date and time, and even pull up a guest access network key.

“We always strive to build products that are useful, simple, and thoughtfully designed,” said Chris McGugan, Belkin’s vice president of product management, in a statement. “Here, we’ve evolved the intuitive LED display from our flagship N1 Wireless Router into an interactive LCD on the N1 Vision, giving you a sophisticated wireless router that tells you much more about your network activity.”

Besides the display, the router also offers a plug-and-play setup that requires no CDs, four wired Gigabit ports, and all the trappings of an 802.11n connection, such as an operating range of up to 16,000 square feet and transfer speeds of up to 300Mbps. The N1 Vision will be available in late July with a list price of $199.99.

How to change your MAC address on Windows and Mac

Each and every web-connected component in your household has a MAC address. One can think of these 12-digit identifiers as digital name tags that computers, smartphones, tablets, and smart TVs use to say “present” on our home Wi-Fi networks. MAC addresses are also integral in maintaining a safe and reliable gateway to the internet.

netgear orbi ax6000 tri band wi fi system deal crutchfield april 2024 lifestyle

If you want every corner of your home to have access to a stable internet connection, you're going to want to buy a mesh Wi-Fi system. There are lots of options out there among all the router deals online, but here's one that we recommend -- the Netgear Orbi AX6000 tri-band Wi-Fi system, which Crutchfield is selling at $100 off. Instead of $900, you'll just have to pay $800 for this mesh Wi-Fi system, but only if you hurry. The discount is expected to last for a few more days, but we're not sure if stocks will still be available by the end of the sale.

Why you should buy the Netgear Orbi AX6000 tri-band Wi-Fi system
The Netgear Orbi AX6000 tri-band Wi-Fi system includes a router module and two satellites to create a mesh network that supports Wi-Fi 6 and will provide coverage across 7,500 square feet. The router and the satellites will use a single network name for a seamless connection as you move around -- horizontally or vertically -- and MU-MIMO technology will allow for simultaneous streaming across multiple devices, so even if everyone in the family is connected to the mesh Wi-Fi system at the same time, nobody will experience any lag or buffering while watching streaming shows.
