Regardless of where you are on the world map, as of today, Skype announced via an official blog post that they’ll be rolling out a feature that will allow you to launch and hold Skype video calls straight from your Outlook inbox. Initially, this was a feature that was launched for certain markets last year, including the U.S., U.K. and Germany.

On top of that, Skype also announced a new bug fix that’s included with the new version of the browser plugin. In some instances, Skype for Outlook users allegedly reported that when the desktop version of the app was open on top of the plugin for Outlook, calls would continue to ring via the plugin if you picked up the call using the app, and vice versa. According to today’s blog post, this should no longer occur.

On top of that, PC-based users of the plugin will be able to enjoy HD video calling. However, while the plugin is also compatible with Apple’s Safari browser for Mac, the HD feature is PC-specific. Of course, you’ll need an HD-capable webcam to enjoy this feature, as well as a solid connection.

You can download the newest version of the Skype for Outlook plugin by clicking here.
