Rumors of the update spread after the specs started to pop up on European retailer sites, but now pages detailing the device (which have since been removed) have shown up on the official Dell site, according to Liliputing. There aren’t too many surprises here, but it’s still nice to know for sure that the device is on its way.
For starters, the new XPS 13 offers the same screen options, with either a standard 1,080p display, or a 3,200 x 1,800 display with multitouch. The maximum RAM option has doubled since the 5th-Generation version, up to 16GB for Skylake. The storage size has doubled too, allowing you to purchase a model with one terabyte of solid state storage instead of a mere 512 gigabytes.
There are other small changes, too. The battery is slightly larger, and the connectivity options have expanded to include USB 3.0 and a Thunderbolt 3/USB Type-C plug as well. Of course, all of those specs are still subject to change, and it seems Dell isn’t quite ready to actually show off the device to the world.
That also means no word yet on the price or release date, but based on the info seen on the site and the timeline for other devices, we can’t be too far off from our first official look.
