Continuing its run of excellent laptop deals, Dell has a great discount on the Dell XPS 17 laptop. It usually costs $4,049, but right now you can buy it for $2,949 saving $1,100 off the regular price. It’s a high-end laptop packed with great hardware for pretty much any task imaginable. Here’s what it has to offer before you hit the buy button.

Why you should buy the Dell XPS 17

This particular Dell XPS 17 has so much great hardware that it’s perfect for content creation, working away, or even gaming. It has a 13th-generation Intel Core i9-13900H processor along with a near ridiculous 64GB of memory. While many machines have 16GB and we’re impressed when we see 32GB, this one doubles our hopes and ensures it will fly with whatever your plans may be. It also has 1TB of SSD storage space. Ensuring this is a high-end machine with few limitations, there’s also an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 graphics card with 12GB of dedicated VRAM so there’s no game you can’t play on it. That won’t change for a long time as this is a laptop built to last.

The only thing that stops the Dell XPS 17 from being one of the best gaming laptops is that its screen only has a standard 60Hz refresh rate which isn’t ideal for fast-moving games. It is a great screen though as it’s a 17-inch UHD+ one with 3840 x 2400 resolution and 500 nits of brightness. It’s also a touchscreen if you happen to want to be more tactile as you work.

Power is everything here but the Dell XPS 17 knows how to harness it as it has the Dell performance app which means you can tweak things on the fly, such as switching to a quiet mode or going all in with an ultra-performance mode. An advanced thermal design means the laptop stays cool and there are improved skin temperatures when you place it on your lap. Things like these add up to remind you why Dell is one of the best laptop brands around.

The Dell XPS 17 also somehow manages to be smaller than most as Dell has squeezed its 17-inch screen into a 15-inch form factor. That makes it easier to carry around than some of the best laptops while still packing a punch where it counts.

A supremely powerful and attractive laptop, the Dell XPS 17 usually costs $4,049. Right now though, you can buy it from Dell and save $1,100, dropping the price to $2,949. This is a fantastic deal for a high-end laptop that is built to last. Check it out for yourself by clicking the button below.

I love the MacBook Pro, but this Windows laptop came surprisingly close

There are some great machines in the 15-inch laptop category, which has recently been stretched to include the more common 16-inch laptop. The best among them is the Apple MacBook Pro 16, which offers fast performance for tasks like video editing and the longest battery life.

The Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i 16 is aimed not only at other 16-inch Windows laptops but also at the MacBook Pro 16. It offers many of the same benefits but at a lower price. Can it take a place at the top?

How to set an ‘Out of Office’ message in Microsoft Teams
Person using Windows 11 laptop on their lap by the window.

Many people use Microsoft Teams regularly to communicate with colleagues both inside of the office and remotely. It is considered one of the most efficient ways to ensure you can stay in contact with the people on your team, but what if you need to let people know you’re not readily available? Microsoft Teams has a method for you to set up an "Out of Office" status for your profile to let staff members know when you’ll be gone for the afternoon, for several days on vacation, or for an extended period.
Where do I go to set up my ‘Out of Office’ status for Teams?
It is important to note that your Microsoft Teams and Outlook calendars are synced. This includes your out-of-office status and automatic replies. So, whatever you set up in Microsoft Teams will reflect in Outlook. Similarly, you can set up your out-of-office status in Outlook, and it will be reflected in Teams; however, the former has a more straightforward instruction.

First, you can click on your profile icon in Teams and go directly to Schedule an out of office, as a shortcut. This will take you to the settings area where you can proceed. You can also click the three-dot icon next to your profile icon, then go to Settings > General, then scroll down to the bottom of the page. There, you'll find out-of-office settings and click Schedule.
