Gateway has rolled out two additions to its desktop line of computers, the GM5664 and GT5662, both of which sport AMD Phenom quad-core processors, and the GM series offers a Hybrid-SuperMulti optical drive that can read both Blu-ray and HD DVD movies.
"Gateway’s new retail line up marries high-performance with affordability," said Gateway’s senior manager for desktops Glenn Jystad, in a statement. "These new systems offer just about everything one could ask for in a powerful PC, delivering a great combination of features that are sure to please."
The GM5663 is aimed at gamers, multimedia enthusiasts, and content creators, offering the Hybrid SuperMulti drive, an integrated TV tuner, a 7,200 rpm 1 TB hard drive, and a 400-watt power supply for folks with expansion plans. The system sports an AMD Phenom 9600 processor, a 2.3 GHz bus, an ATI Radeon HD 2400XT graphics card, 3 GB of RAM, a 15-in-1 media card reader, 7.1 audio support, six USB 2.0 ports, and Windows Vista Home Premium.
The GT5662 features an AMD Phenom 9500 CPU, a 2.2 GHz bus, the same ATI Radeon 2400XT video card, 3 GB of RAM, a 7,200 rpm 500 GB hard drive, and an 18× DVD±RW DVD burner with LabelFlash technology. There’s no TV tuner, but it does sport six USB 2.0 ports, 7.1 audio, the 15-in-1 media card reader, and Windows Home Premium.
Both the GM5664 and GT5662 are available now at prices starting at $1,149.99 and $749.99, respectively.
