How to watch Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event

Following the launch of the flagship Galaxy S21 series earlier this year, Samsung held another Galaxy Unpacked unveiling today, April 28. Like most recent tech and media events, Samsung’s April 28 Unpacked took place virtually, rather than in-person, giving Galaxy fans an opportunity to livestream the presentation and watch the company unveil its “most powerful Galaxy” to date.

If you’re a fan of Samsung’s wares and want to follow the company’s keynote live, we’ll tell you where to tune in on April 28.

As expected, Samsung announced two new highly-rumored laptops, the Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Pro 360. They are ultra-thin laptops — one a clamshell and one a 2-in-1 convertible. They both come in a completely redesigned chassis and sport new AMOLED screens in all configurations, including the $999 13-inch model. That just might make it the cheapest OLED laptops ever sold.

The Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Pro 360 both come powered by Intel 11th-gen processors, and will be available for purchase starting on May 14.

Samsung also had a bit of a surprise up its sleeve in the form of a slim new gaming laptop, the Galaxy Book Odyssey. The 15.6-inch gaming laptop comes with a previously unannounced Nvidia RTX 3050 Max-Q or 3050 Ti graphics card. Nvidia rarely lets other companies announce new GPUs, so this one came as quite a surprise.

The Galaxy Book Odyssey will start at $1,400 and will be available in August.

Why Samsung has the most exciting Copilot+ PC right now
The keyboard and trackpad of the Galaxy Book4 Edge.

We were just inundated with a whole slew of new Windows laptops. These aren't your average notebooks, though -- they're part of Microsoft's new Copilot+ PC program -- built from the ground up with AI and ARM chips in mind.

A lot of these laptops emphasize the same performance and battery life gains caused by Qualcomm's Snapdragon X chips. Those are impressive, but comparing all these laptops against each other, it's Samsung's entry that makes me the most excited.

Why Samsung’s answer to the MacBook Pro can’t quite compete
The Galaxy Book4 Ultra open on a wooden suruface.

The 16-inch MacBook Pro is the king of the creator laptops, and it's been that way for several years.

But there have been a wave of new Windows laptops attempting to challenge the MacBook Pro on its own terms. The Samsung Galaxy Book4 Ultra is certainly a contender, packing some impressive specs in a portable chassis. When you compare the two straight up, the MacBook Pro 16-inch clearly comes away with the upper hand, even when considering its higher price.
