Logitech Blasts Out G-Series Gaming Accessories

Peripheral and accessory maker Logitech has debuted three new G-series gaming peripherals designed to put excitement and utter domination into players’ PC-based games: the Logitech Wireless Gaming Keyboard G510, the Logitech Wireless Gaming Mouse G700, and the Logitech Wireless Gaming Headset G930. The keyboard offers an exclusive GamePanel LCD that keeps vital information constantly in view without consuming previous screen real-estate, the mouse offers 13 programmable controls, and the headset supports 7.1 audio with two-way uncompressed audio streaming so opponents will be able to hear ever last nuance of your trash talk.

“The new G-Series products give every gamer a competitive advantage,” said Logtech senior manager of gaming product marketing Elliott Chin, in a statement. “Everything about the new G-Series lineup helps you win, no matter what game you love to play.”

The Logitech Gaming Keyboard G510 features 18 programmable keys with three mode states, giving players up to 54 programmable macro functions per game; users can pre-define macros for games, or create new ones on the fly for particular situations. The keyboard also includes Logitech’s GamePanel LCD display that keeps real-time game stats and PC performance information constantly available without consuming previous on-screen pixels. The keyboard also features customizable RGB backlighting and 3.5mm audio jacks for a headset. The G510 carries a suggested retail price of $119.99.

Next up, the Logitech Wireless Gaming Mouse G700 features 13 “precisely placed” controls that can be used for single actions or macros, and features a quick-connect charging cable that can provide power even when the mouse is in use, and promises a lag-free wireless experience with up to 1,000 reports per second. It carries a suggested retail price of $99.99.

Finally, the Logitech Wireless Gaming Headset G930 supports 71. Dolby surround sound and “gaming-grade” wireless technology that supports two-way uncompressed audio streaming. The headset also has three programmable “G-keys” that let users control music, voice morphing (because it’s really important to sound like a helium-breathing pixie when fragging enemies) and chat clients without fiddling with separate applications. The headset comes with a charging base, and Logitech says it’ll run for up to 10 hours on a single charge. (If you plan on gaming more than 10 hours, you can use the headset while it charges.) The G930 is available not for a suggested price of $159.99.

ROG Flow X13 (2023) vs. ROG Zephyrus G14 (2023): compact gaming laptops
rog flow x13 vs zephyrus g14 asus 2023 front

Asus announced updates to two of its most portable gaming laptops at CES 2023. The 13.4-inch ROG Flow X13 has been slimmed down and powered up, making it an even more viable portable gaming option. Meanwhile, the 14.o-inch ROG Zephyrus G14 has received its own updates and is an incredibly powerful machine given its smaller chassis.

Both are solid offerings for anyone who wants a powerful gaming laptop they can easily carry around. The Flow X13 is slower by itself, but much faster with its XG Mobile add-on, while the Zephyrus G14 looks more like a gaming laptop and carries more power around with it. Which is the right portable gaming solution for you?

Samsung’s new Odyssey Neo G9 gaming monitor is beautiful, but it has a fatal flaw
Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 (2023) playing a racing simulator.

At CES 2023, I had a chance to look at Samsung's upcoming Odyssey Neo G9. It's a monster gaming monitor, and you don't need to look further than the spec sheet to see that. Dual 4K resolution, a 240Hz refresh rate, and a 32:9 aspect ratio with a 57-inch screen? There's a lot to love.

And after seeing it, I was floored by the quality. It's an insane gaming monitor that looks fantastic, and I can't wait to use one for an extended period of time. But there's a big problem with the new Odyssey Neo G9, and it could be dead on arrival.

Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 (2023) vs. Alienware x14 R2: small, next-gen gaming
Alienware x14 R2 at a side angle.

The 14-inch gaming laptop is an interesting proposition, offering more portability, but at the potential cost of gaming performance. Some machines manage that compromise better than others, and the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 has been one of the better options.

Asus updated the machine at CES 2023, adding a mini-LED display to what was already a great gaming laptop -- but it wasn't alone. Dell also updated one of its excellent machines, the Alienware x14 R2, and it's a formidable competitor. Which is the better portable gaming system?
