Logitech Markets Bluetooth io2 Pen

Organizations in industries such as sales, field services, insurance, financial services, healthcare and government regulation are reliant on their mobile workforces’ ability to collect accurate data in the field, and share it quickly. A digital pen with Bluetooth technology can extend the value of existing solutions for mobile data collection and allow for new digital solutions in industries that require a paper record.

Using the Logitech io2 Digital Pen with Bluetooth technology, a mobile worker will be able to capture information by using a customized version of a standard paper form, such as for an insurance appraisal or a work order. The pen automatically creates a digital record that is transmitted to a complementary Bluetooth wireless technology enabled handheld communication device, such as a smart mobile phone, PDA or Blackberry. That data can be stored and processed on the handheld device or immediately sent into an organization’s central database for processing. For the mobile worker, it’s an automated process that starts with filling out a familiar form and ends with a confirmation on his or her wireless handheld communication device that the information has been sent and received

Framingham, Mass.-based research firm IDC anticipates that the worldwide shipments of mobile phones and handheld devices featuring Bluetooth wireless technology will grow from 45 million at the end of 2003 to over half a billion by 2008. Logitech — which manufactures Bluetooth wireless technology enabled peripherals for the PC, mobile phones and portable music players — views the growth of mobile phones and handheld devices with Bluetooth technology as an opportunity for a digital pen that complements the capabilities of those devices.

Availability

The Logitech io2 Digital Pen featuring Bluetooth wireless technology will be available for solution providers beginning this summer. Subsequently, it will be marketed as part of custom mobile workforce solutions through these solution provider channels. More information is available at www.logitech.com/io2bt.

A dangerous new jailbreak for AI chatbots was just discovered
the side of a Microsoft building

Microsoft has released more details about a troubling new generative AI jailbreak technique it has discovered, called "Skeleton Key." Using this prompt injection method, malicious users can effectively bypass a chatbot's safety guardrails, the security features that keeps ChatGPT from going full Taye.

Skeleton Key is an example of a prompt injection or prompt engineering attack. It's a multi-turn strategy designed to essentially convince an AI model to ignore its ingrained safety guardrails, "[causing] the system to violate its operators’ policies, make decisions unduly influenced by a user, or execute malicious instructions," Mark Russinovich, CTO of Microsoft Azure, wrote in the announcement.
