When it comes to doing business, screen space isn’t just a luxury, it can be a productivity tool that helps get things done more easily as well. That’s the logic behind NEC’s latest MultiSync 19- and 24-inch flat-screen displays in its enterprise line, which offer big screens in a package tailored for offices.
The larger EA241WM reaches full 1080p resolution across its 24-inch screen for packing more applications and widgets onto the desktop at once – or maybe catching a Blu-ray movie on break. Other specs include 1000:1 contrast ratio and 400 cd/m²², but a higher contrast ratio: 1,500:1. brightness. By contrast, the smaller 19-inch EA191M bucks the widescreen trend in favor of a traditional 5:4 aspect ratio, which NEC claims is more appropriate for financial and specialty markets. It also gets a much lower resolution 1280 x 1024 display and lower brightness of of 250 cd/m
Both displays include a number of shared features, including a four-way stand that moves up and down over four inches, tilts, swivels, and pivots, a four-port USB 2.0 hub built in, and down-firing speakers built in along with a headphone jack, to eliminate the need for desk speakers. The EA241WM and EA191M are also certified EPEAT Gold and Silver for energy consumption, respectively, and Energy Star compliant.
Both displays will go on sale later this month, with the EA241WM priced at $549 and the EA191M at $379.
