Razer Announces Lachesis Gaming Mouse

Before Motorola came along and made “Razr” synonymous with their slim and soon-ubiquitous fashion phone, “Razer” was a gaming company that marketed primarily mice to the hardest the of the hardcore gamers. As it turns out, Razer is still around and kicking – and they just announced a new mouse on Thursday. The Razer Lachesis uses the company’s high-precision 3G laser to supposedly improve mouse tracking above the accuracy any other laser system is capable of.

According to Razer, 3G laser sensors offer 4,000 dpi of resolution, 60 to 100 inches per second of tracking speed and can measure 25 G’s of acceleration. Unlike competing mice, the Lachesis actually picks up its full resolution at the hardware level, rather than interpolating it with software. Gamers can chance the resolution in increments of 125 DPI right on the mouse. In addition, Razer claims the Lachesis has a shorter lift-off distance than other mice, meaning it won’t throw off your game by continuing to track movement while you’re trying to shift it on the desktop.

Besides improvements in tracking technology, the Lachesis has several other gamer-friendly features. For one, it has an ambidextrous design for gamers who prefer a “claw grip” of their mice, and comes with a rubberized non-slip finish to keep it in the hand. And while it’s all about traction up top, below the Lachesis has Teflon Ultraslick feet to keep it skimming across desktops with minimal effort. Nine independently programmable buttons dot the top and sides of the mouse, plus a scroll wheel that pulsates with light.

The Razer Lachesis will be available in Phantom White and Banshee Blue when it launches in October worldwide. It will retail for $79.99 on Razer’s Web site.

Samsung didn't have a presence at Computex 2024, but it did reveal some juicy new details on its highly anticipated new OLED gaming monitors to align with the event.

An unexpected phone brand is about to make its gaming laptop debut

When you think of RedMagic, you usually think of gaming smartphones like the RedMagic 8 Pro. But this time, as spotted in Geekbench, RedMagic is debuting in the gaming laptop arena. The RedMagic GN001J gaming laptop is confirmed to launch in June, but no specific date is available.

We do know, however, that this gaming laptop will pack an Intel Core i9-13950HX mobile processor, part of the last-gen Raptor Lake series, which would provide you with 24 cores and 32 threads at your disposal. This is an older chip, unfortunately, which hints that the device may land on the cheaper end of the spectrum.
