Samsung Electronics has occasionally been known for putting out computer monitors that combine style and flair with cutting edge technology. Their newest monitor, the SyncMaster 225UW, is certainly no exception to that rule.
The Samsung SyncMaster 225UW is a 22-inch widescreen LCD monitor which has nice design touches like a high-gloss black bezel, attractive stand and touch-sensitive buttons. The major draw of this monitor, though, for most techies will be how easy it works with Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 for doing advanced web conferencing.
So what gives the SyncMaster 225U an edge when it comes to video conferencing? How about the integrated 2-megapixel Web cam, dual-array microphone and speakers for starters. These features tie into Microsoft’s software in a way which Samsung says will let others communicate globally without needing to “pick up a phone, put on a headset or lean into a microphone.” Combined support for wideband audio codec’s and software voice enhancement to let users have what Samsung thinks is a better Web conferencing experience.

Beyond sharp looks and the built-in Web conferencing functions, the Samsung SyncMaster 225UW offers a fair number of other features. These include a resolution of 1680 x 1050, 16:10 aspect ratio, 5 ms GTG response time, 300cd/m2 brightness, 700:1 contrast ratio, 160/160 viewing angle, a two-port USB hub and dual DVI-D and analog inputs.
