Yahoo! over the weekend rolled out new enhancements to their Yahoo! Toolbar for IE and Yahoo! Toolbar for Firefox Web browser add-ons. Both toolbars are available for free download from the Web portal’s dedicated site.
Updates for Yahoo! Toolbar for IE version 6.3, announced Yahoo! via their Yahoo! Search blog, include support for tabbed browsing from within Internet Explorer 5 and 6. Yahoo!’s version 1.1.1 for Firefox “improves a few things…with bookmarks, mail alerts, and Anti Spy, among other thingsâ€.
Also of note for both the IE and Firefox toolbars is the addition of a del.icio.us button, which will allow users the ability to save and share Web favorites. The button will provide quick access to a registered del.icio.us account for those who have one. del.icio.us was acquired by Yahoo! in December of last year, so the addition of this button to the search engine’s toolbar is a next logical step for introducing the service to a wider base of users.
