Audio Technica has developed a little device we like to call a “two-fer.” This two for one, aka “two-fer,” comes in the sleek form of Audio Technica’s new AT-HA35i headphones amplifier that also serves as an iPod dock. The new combo device includes a D/A converter that supports 192 kHz/24bit audio, a max output of 440mWx2 for headphones, 20-20kHz frequency response and support for 32kHz, 44.1kHz, as well as 48kHz sampling.
Now, headphones amps are nowhere near a necessity for all music-lovers, but they sure do satisfy a subculture of audiophiles. This Audio Technica headphone amp will cost you a pretty penny, about ¥50,400 (or about $560 pretty pennies), when it is released in Japan next month.
