WinDVD 7 is one of the most exciting players we have heard about this year. WinDVD 7 Gold is the basic version with WinDVD Platinum giving the user a bunch of tweaking options, and adds HDTV Advanced Video Codec support and digital TV recorded content playback.
The media player that comes with WinDVD 7 can playback Real, QuickTime, WMV-HD and MPEG-4 video files eliminating the need for multiple players. Two of the coolest new features includes playback for DivX encoded movies, and UPnP network support so you can playback content on other UPnP devices throughout the home.
“Being able to use a single software solution to play all DVD/video/audio in multiple formats simplifies our customers’ digital lifestyle,” said Steve Ro, CEO and President of InterVideo. “It not only eliminates the frustration of media incompatibility issues, it gives users a growth path. They can get the most out of their current system now; and then, when they’re ready to adopt next-generation technologies like HDTV, H.264, and high-definition audio, they’ll already have the tools in place to begin enjoying them.”
Although we are not sure whether we like the integration of the Google Toolbar and Desktop Search, it does add enhanced searching capabilities to WinDVD 7, as long as it sticks to multimedia files.
WinDVD Gold will sell for $49.95 while WinDVD 7 Platinum will go for $69.95
You will be able to download WinDVD 7 from the InterVideo website June 15th.
