MP3 player manufacturers will try just about anything once in order for you to pay attention to their product and not one of the Apple iPods. It comes as no surprise then that SanDisk recently launched a new MP3 player which you shake to change sounds.
The SanDisk Sansa Shaker, which loosely resembles a fat hourglass in design, ships with a 512MB SD memory card which is inserted into a slot on the player. That is enough space to store around 125 standard size MP3 songs (128kbps) and the card can be swapped with other SD memory cards so you can vary up your music selections; or simply go with a single, larger memory card to hold all of your music library.
The SanDisk Shaker in Pink
Geared towards kids, the Shaker comes in blue and pink color choices. As mentioned before, one selects songs loaded onto the player’s SD memory card by shaking the device to get it to jump to another song. Bands along the top and bottom of the Sansa Shaker also let you navigate more normally through a song library as well as letting you control volume.
The SanDisk Sansa Shaker can be enjoyed by more than a single child through two options. One is centered on two headphone jacks built into the player. The other is through an integrated loudspeaker.
SanDisk’s latest MP3 player comes out of the box with a USB cable, lanyard, five pre-loaded songs and a selection of stickers you can use to decorate the Shaker. Battery life is estimated at around 15 hours on a single AAA battery (one is included to get you started).
More information on the SanDisk Sansa Shaker, which retails for around $40 USD, can be found at SanDisk’s Web site.
