This 55-inch LG OLED 4K TV is less than $900 for Cyber Monday

Time is of the essence here, so we’ll cut to the chase: Amazon has just discounted the 55-inch LG B8 OLED 4K TV for Cyber Monday, dropping it from $1,350 down to just $874 — a total savings of $426. The best bit? It’s the only OLED TV on the shelves for less than $900, so if you’ve been looking for a reason to chop in your HDTV for something more in line with the times, here it is.

While there are more high-end alternatives for hardcore videophiles, the 55-inch LG B8 is the path to take for the average Joe wanting to breathe fresh life into their home entertainment setup — representing a tremendous step up from an HDTV and even a standard 4K TV. That’s because what we’re looking at here is an OLED TV, otherwise known as the best in the business.

Why? Because OLED TVs are a lot more detailed, deliver a faster response time and refresh rate, consume less power, and have a far better viewing angle than their flagship QLED counterparts (and not to mention run-of-the-mill LED TVs, akin to the one at the center of your home entertainment setup now). The result is a more vibrant, vivid, image that can’t be matched.

This is true for the 55-inch LG B8, one of the more reserved OLED 4K TVs on the shelves, hence why a 55-inch model is coming in at $874 with a discount, which is about what you’d usually pay for a 70-inch Samsung 4K TV when it isn’t on sale for only $550. But again, the LG B8 is in a completely different league in the picture department, bringing praise to the OLED name.

It’s a bit like how you pay more per square foot of living and recreational space for a house in a nice neighborhood: You’re going to need to part with more cash per inch of screen space if you want a high-end television. The reason being? The cost to develop and manufacture the hardware is a lot higher, which forces the overall price up. So you’re investing in quality here.

Dig deeper than the souped-up, ultra-immersive viewing experience the 55-inch LG B8 brings to the table and you’ll find multi-format HDR (headlined by both Dolby Vision and Hybrid Log-Gamma) for extracting every last drop of detail from supported content and LG’s intuitive webOS smart software for one-click streaming through the likes of Amazon Prime Video and Netflix.

If you’re serious about having the most immersive, detailed viewing experience you can buy for less $900, the 55-inch LG B8 is absolutely the way to go — marking the first time an OLED has ever slipped below the mark. However, if you’re in the market for something a little different — maybe something with a bigger screen — you aren’t entirely out of luck.

There are several other fantastic Cyber Monday TV deals available to celebrate Cyber Monday (duh!), including a 43-inch Samsung NU6900 for $230, a 55-inch TCL 4-Series for $280, a 60-inch LG UM6950 for $400, a 65-inch Vizio V-Series for $450, and a 70-inch Samsung 6-Series for $550. So there’s absolutely no reason to not take home a shiny new 4K TV today.

Vizio 86-inch 4K TV.

While much of the recent attention on Vizio has been connected to its imminent acquisition by retail giant Walmart, the TV maker has just announced its first TV to break the 75-inch screen size barrier. The new 4K TV model has an 86-inch screen and will be available on April 29 for $999, a price that undercuts almost every other 86-inch model from competitors.
