The Arlo Pro 2, the best security camera we’ve tested, is on sale for Cyber Week

Just because Black Friday and Cyber Monday have come and gone, it doesn’t mean the deals stop. Just ask our hardworking deals team if their work is done (hint, it’s not). Cyber Week is here, and we’ve spotted some fantastic deals on the Arlo Pro 2 security cameras on both Amazon and Best Buy.

A fair bit of warning: These security cameras are not cheap. In fact, they’re one of the more expensive options out there. But there’s a good reason for it. The cameras function better and perform better than just about any others we’ve tested. The cameras connect to a base station via a completely separate network from your main Wi-Fi network. It also allows for centralized recording of your cameras thanks to two USB ports on the base station itself.

It also sports geofencing and scheduling, allowing you not only to set times when you want the cameras active but also to be active outside of these times when you’re not at home. The picture quality is outstanding. Whereas other cameras often wash out due to bright light or sunlight, you can manually adjust exposure to keep the picture clear and useable.

The cameras record in 1080p and seven days of free cloud storage is provided with purchase (you can upgrade to longer storage for a fee, however). Larger packages can easily be used for small and medium businesses, and Arlo offers several business-centric features like cloud storage for large deployments and continuous video recording on a per camera basis with up to 30 days of storage.

None of the premium features are necessary for most home applications, however. Seven days of storage is more than enough for most, and if there are videos you’d like to save, you can easily download and store them from the app.

Several different Arlo packages are on sale on Best Buy and Amazon. We’ve shared the best deals we’ve found below:

  • Two Camera Kit – $239 (43% off) on Amazon
  • Three Camera Kit – $349  (40% off) on Amazon
  • Four Camera Kit – $399 (38% off) at Best Buy

We haven’t been told how long these deals last, but we’d safely assume these will go back up in price sometime during the week. Our advice? Buy them now, you won’t be disappointed.

Many people want a home security system, but the thought of a labor-intensive install or complicated recording interface can be enough to deter most buyers. Fortunately, that's where wireless security cameras come into play. Wireless cameras require no hardline connection to your home or business network. The hardware itself pairs directly to Wi-Fi and can typically be controlled with a mobile app for live surveillance and motion alerts. With handy new features like two-way audio, adjustable sensor sensitivity, and the ability to save footage, you and your family can feel safe. Here are our picks for 2021’s top wireless security cameras.

Arlo ditches the need for a hub with its new Pro 4 and Ultra 2 cameras
The Arlo Pro 4 installed outside.

As the holiday season approaches and the need for improved home security grows, Arlo has added two new options to its home security lineup: The Arlo Pro 4 and the Arlo Ultra 2 spotlight cameras. These cameras not only utilize color night vision, but also have built-in spotlights to pinpoint activity in their field of view and potentially scare away intruders. The new cameras supplement the company's other recent budget offerings and continue to broaden its portfolio.

One feature of note is that both the Arlo Pro 4 and Arlo Ultra 2 cameras are wire-free and don't require dedicated hubs anymore, allowing for more diverse placement. With no need for a hub to connect them to a wireless network, you aren't limited by the proximity of power outlets when placing these cameras.
