This $120 Raspberry Pi 3 bundle is the starter kit you’ve been waiting for

The Raspberry Pi board.
Digital Trends
The Raspberry Pi is a credit card-sized, low-cost computer capable of taking on a multitude of tasks. It’s been used by home theater aficionados, programmers, and even retro gamers, and our DT Shop currently offers the Raspberry Pi 3 bundled with more than 24 hours of online courses for $120, a savings of more than $100.

The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B launched earlier this year and as we noted back in February, this model boasts some considerable upgrades from previous Raspberry boards. For starters, it has a new 1.2GHz, 64-bit quad-core ARMv8 processor that’s paired with 1GB of RAM. That replaces the 900MHz CPU found on the older version. The extra muscle makes the Raspberry Pi 3 a respectable foundation for all sorts of projects as users come up with more novel ways to use their boards.

Onboard Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity also make this the first Internet of Things-ready Raspberry Pi. The Wi-Fi support lets you get online, whereas the Bluetooth connectivity allows it to connect to peripherals and sensors.

Other noteworthy features include a full-size HDMI port, MicroSD slot, and four USB ports.

This $120 bundle also includes a quick starter kit designed to get your Raspberry Pi 3 up and running as fast as possible. The kit includes all the necessary accessories such as a power adapter, an 8GB SD card with the Raspbian OS preinstalled, and a set of USB, HDMI, and Ethernet cables.

Also included in this bundle are 24 hours worth of online courses designed to help you launch into a variety of projects with your Raspberry Pi. That includes a 7-hour IoT course, a 3-hour network security course, a 1-hour Beowulf Cluster course which teaches you how to form Raspberry Pi clusters for more power-hungry tasks, a 2-hour robotics course, a 7-hour Web development course, and a 1-hour crash course on everything Raspberry Pi. Combined, the courses alone are worth over $200, which makes this bundle a savings of more than $100.

If you’re still short on ideas, check out our list of five easy projects anyone can try with their Raspberry Pi.
