Read our full Alien: Isolation review.
A new developer diary from Sega shows off the technology behind how the upcoming Alien: Isolation‘s characters are created, including the cutting edge motion capture technology being used to translate actors into the game’s characters. It also reveals a bit of new in-game footage so you can see the animation in action.
The game will follow Ellen Ripley’s daughter Amanda as she tries to solve the mystery of her mother’s disappearance. In contrast to the underwhelming recent entry in the franchise, Alien: Isolation will be less about space marines spraying bullets and instead capture the creeping horror and nail-biting, scrappy survival of the first film. This will raise the xenomorph once again to its rightful position as terrifying apex predator, and hopefully inject new life into a genre-defining series that has grown stagnant.
