Capcom has released a trailer for Resident Evil Revelations 2, which will feature the return of Claire Redfield. The game is set for release in early 2015 on PC and PlayStation/Xbox consoles.

According to a story in the November issue of GamesMaster Magazine, the game will take place between the events of Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6. As the playable lead, Claire, who originally appeared in Resident Evil 2, will be joined by Moira Burton, son of the first Resident Evil‘s Barry Burton. The campaign will be playable in both co-op and single player. Claire is the muscle of the group, with Moira providing support. Although chronologically set in the later, more action-oriented days of the franchise, the gameplay will return to the series’ survival horror roots.

The game will open with Claire inducting Moira into the human rights organization Terra Save, but soon they will find themselves abducted and brought to a mysterious island detention facility that is swarmed with horrifying creatures called Afflicted.

The Afflicted may appear like zombies, “but are in fact something quite different,” explained producer Michiteru Okabe. Solving the related mysteries of both your abduction and the origin of the afflicted will be central to the game’s story.

Along with the return of Silent Hillthere is an encouraging general trend of going back to the creeping anxiety-provoking roots of horror games, which spent much of the last decade skewing towards running and gunning. 2015 is shaping up to be a year of games you might not want to play alone in the dark at night, and we couldn’t be more excited.

How long is Dragon’s Dogma 2?
A sphinx in Dragon's Dogma 2.

Open-world RPGs can be anywhere from around a dozen hours long to well over 100. Dragon's Dogma 2 is very unique, even among others in the genre, for not adhering to a lot of traditional design philosophies, such as how it handles fast travel. If anything, that will only add to your total playtime, plus there are all the optional quests to do, Vocations to try out and level up, and more if you're a completionist. If you're wondering if you have the time to fit Dragon's Dogma 2 into your schedule among all the other games releasing, here's how long you can expect this adventure to last.
How long is Dragon's Dogma 2?

For the main quest, Dragon's Dogma 2 can probably be beaten in around 25 hours, give or take. That's assuming you mainline the story as efficiently as possible and don't get stuck on any boss fights being under-leveled. A more realistic playthrough where you explore a bit, do some side content, and maybe go for the true ending will push you into the 30 to 35-hour range, as it did for us.
