Secret Ponchos, a top-down PvP shooter set in the old American west, is coming t0 PlayStation 4 on December 2, and will be available for free to PlayStation Plus members for the entire month.

The game was initially confirmed for PS4 during Sony’s E3 2013 press conference. It was inspired by “Spaghetti Western” movies and fighting games. The developer, Switchblade Monkeys, has also cited class-based competitions like Team Fortress 2 and League of Legends as inspirations.

Two to eight players choose from one of five outlaws, each with its own unique set of weapons and skills. For instance, Kid Red launches an all-out assault with dynamite and a six-shooter, whereas Phantom Poncho wields a whip and shotgun for a more control-oriented play style. More characters with customizable stats are promised in future updates. Cover plays a vitally important role. Game modes include team and free-for-all in domination and deathmatch-style rounds. Two people can play locally or teams can meet up online.

Secret Ponchos launches exclusively on PS4 on December 2. Learn more over on the developer’s page.

Surfaced patent shows what an Xbox streaming console would’ve looked like
An Xbox Series X sits next to both Series S models.

There have been a few Xbox devices that have never come to fruition, one of which was Keystone, a prototype for an affordable game streaming device you could hook up to your TV or monitor. Thanks to a surfaced patent, we've gotten an even closer look at what it would've potentially looked like.

The patent, first spotted by Windows Central, gives us a more complete view of the device. We've previously seen the Keystone in the flesh. Microsoft Gaming head Phil Spencer is known for hiding teases and interesting collectibles on the shelf in his office. In a 2022 X (formerly Twitter) post congratulating Bethesda on Fallout's 25th anniversary, you can see a small white device on the top shelf that's actually a Keystone prototype. Xbox told Digital Trends that it was a version of the device made before it decided to "refocus our efforts on a new approach.”
