Journey, The Unfinished Swan, and Until Dawn all appear to be confirmed for eventual release on PlayStation 4, as a hastily removed list of Sony’s playable Gamescom titles seems to reveal. The August 2014 consumer show in Germany is two weeks away, and Sony evidently decided that the list’s posting came a little too early. Fortunately, a thread on NeoGAF saved the list for all to see, and it includes the above three titles, none of which had been announced for PS4 previously. While Journey and The Unfinished Swan are welcome additions to an already impressive list of titles that will be playable at Gamescom, the one that stands out is Until Dawn, a game which has staved off cancellation rumors, and of which we have seen very little since its announcement in 2012. The game, an homage to the Teen Horror/Slasher genre of films (ala Scream, Friday the 13th), features teens in the woods being stalked by something evil. The game is built to make your decisions matter, determining who among your friends lives or dies. There have been stirrings in 2014 that the project was not abandoned, and is still very much in development. In March, Polygon received confirmation from Shuhei Yoshida, head of Sony World Wide Studios, that Until Dawn is still coming. There have also been rumors the game will be developed for Sony’s virtual reality headset, Project Morpheus. To that, Yoshida said “that would be very interesting, because it’s a horror game… in terms of genre, it’s a really good fit.” Not any kind of confirmation, but not a denial either. And earlier in July 2014, Sony renewed the trademark on Until Dawn, giving further indication the game is not cancelled. We previewed an early version of the game in 2012, when it was still a PlayStation 3 title. You can also check out the original announcement trailer below.

Ubisoft confirms Assassin’s Creed remakes are in the works
Basim perched on a ledge overlooking Baghdad

In a company interview with CEO Yves Guillemot posted on the Ubisoft website Thursday, the executive reveals that there are remakes of Assassin's Creed games in the works, although he doesn't specify which ones.

"Players can be excited about some remakes, which will allow us to revisit some of the games we've created in the past and modernize them," he says, implying that it could pertain to games made before Odyssey. "There are worlds in some of our older Assassin's Creed games that are still extremely rich."

Surfaced patent shows what an Xbox streaming console would’ve looked like
An Xbox Series X sits next to both Series S models.

There have been a few Xbox devices that have never come to fruition, one of which was Keystone, a prototype for an affordable game streaming device you could hook up to your TV or monitor. Thanks to a surfaced patent, we've gotten an even closer look at what it would've potentially looked like.

The patent, first spotted by Windows Central, gives us a more complete view of the device. We've previously seen the Keystone in the flesh. Microsoft Gaming head Phil Spencer is known for hiding teases and interesting collectibles on the shelf in his office. In a 2022 X (formerly Twitter) post congratulating Bethesda on Fallout's 25th anniversary, you can see a small white device on the top shelf that's actually a Keystone prototype. Xbox told Digital Trends that it was a version of the device made before it decided to "refocus our efforts on a new approach.”
