As Bungie wraps up development on the forthcoming Destiny: Rise of Iron expansion, publisher Activision is readying an all-in-one retail package that collects all of the game’s add-on content released to date.
A listing for Destiny: The Collection surfaced on Amazon on Monday for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Players can pre-order the package for $60 ahead of its launch in September.
“If you’ve missed out on any of the adventures that we’ve delivered to date, we’re excited to announce Destiny: The Collection,” Bungie community manager David Dague said. “Think of it as a loot crate that will help you bounce back into the action. This bundle contains everything we’ve ever released into the world Destiny, including Rise of Iron. It even has a consumable that will boost your character to combat-ready status.”
Rise of Iron is the latest major expansion for Bungie’s sci-fi first-person shooter Destiny, following up on 2015’s add-on The Taken King. The upcoming expansion will add new missions, raids, and competitive multiplayer maps, and will also mark the return of the legendary Gjallarhorn weapon.
Destiny: The Collection includes all content featured in the original 2014 version of Destiny, along with material from the expansions The Dark Below: House of Wolves, The Taken King, and Rise of Iron. Also included in the package is a digital code that will automatically upgrade a Destiny character to level 40, giving players an easy way to access late-game and expanded content.
Bungie recently ended support for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 editions of Destiny, locking Rise of Iron and all future content to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The studio announced Monday that PlayStation 3 Destiny players looking to upgrade to the PS4 edition can pick up a digital copy of Destiny: The Collection at a discount.
“Players who own Destiny: The Taken King can take advantage of a digital upgrade path on the PS4,” Bungie’s Dague saidd. “Access the digital store on your new console, where you’ll find Destiny: The Collection on sale for $40. We hope you’ll continue with us on this journey, so we’re making it a little easier to keep up.”
Destiny: Rise of Iron and Destiny: The Collection are slated to launch on September 20.
