Activision has a plan for growing Destiny beyond 2015’s second (and only confirmed) downloadable content release, House of Wolves, and we may have a new glimpse of it, thanks to a purportedly leaked image captured during a “classified” Bungie meeting.
It should be noted before we go any further that the image itself is very blurry, and — assuming it’s legitimate — some of the info it contains could have been misread as result. It’s also worth mentioning that even if the image is real, the timeline laid out may be incomplete or inaccurate.
In other words, keep your salt shaker full and handy as you consider the possibilities raised here. Speculate all you want, but none of these details are confirmed as fact.
First, you should know that this image originally surfaced in October 2014, posted to the Destiny Italy fan page on Facebook. The sudden renewed interest could be the result of the image being shared on Twitter (below) and then analyzed in a recent Reddit post.

The image suggests that a disc-based release, possibly called “Comet: Plague of Darkness” (or something close to that), is coming in September 2015. It’s not a sequel to Destiny, but rather a larger expansion of the main game than either the coming Wolves DLC or the previous The Dark Below offered.
An Italian fansite studied the text below the image’s main timeline, teasing out a few additional details. The Comet expansion supposedly adds a third subclass to the existing two for each main class. It also raises the base level cap from 20 to 30, and adds two new weapon classes to the game.
The image also seems to reveal a March 10, 2015 launch for House of Wolves, as well as two additional DLC releases — “Vex [unreadable]” and “Forge of Gods” — to follow Comet.
Remember: Nothing’s official. The image does seem to get the facts right about The Dark Below, which is noteworthy since it first surfaced well before details of that DLC were revealed. But wait for confirmation before you accept anything as fact.
