‘Dishonored 2’ launch trailer sets the stage for Emily’s revenge

Dishonored 2 - Official Launch Trailer
Corvo Attano exacted his revenge in the original Dishonored, and it will soon be Emily Kaldwin’s turn to do the same, complete with new supernatural abilities and a new land to explore. In the game’s launch trailer, the mysterious Outsider — who provided Corvo with his powers — sets the stage for Emily’s tale.

“Look around you. You haven’t been watching the dark corners of the world,” the Outsider says to Emily. “Maybe living in a palace has made you soft.”

No sooner do the words leave her mouth does Delilah Kaldwin, the “lost sister” of diseased empress Jessamine Kaldwin, approach the throne and confront Emily as she’s flanked by several robotic guards.

Delilah was originally featured in the original Dishonored‘s DLC, particularly The Brigmore Witches. During this time, however, she went by the name “Delilah Copperspoon.”

“I’m here to relieve you of your crown,” Delilah says. We then see Corvo turn to stone as a spell bursts from the floor — it appears that this will be the narrative conceit that stops both Corvo and Emily from going on missions together.

Of course, Emily isn’t about to take this coup lying down. We see her burst through the ceiling of a seaside building and begin a merciless slaughter, killing her enemies with her blade, gun, “bloodflies,” and other supernatural abilities. We also see her use an object to switch between two separate timelines, each populated by different characters.

“How many of your own subjects are you ready to slaughter?” the Outsider asks.

This question was one of the fundamental themes of the original game, where killing would have a significant impact on events that occurred in missions, as well as the narrative’s conclusion. Perhaps we’ll receive our answer soon.

“We’ll be face to face soon … Delilah,” mutters Emily.

Dishonored 2 is out this Friday, November 11, on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Pre-ordering the game gets you access a day early.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2: Heart of Chornobyl: release date predictions, trailers, gameplay

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is the next hotly anticipated entry in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise. The game is releasing over 13 years after the last entry in the series, and it's making its debut on consoles as an Xbox Series X exclusive.

Developer GSC Game World was forced to delay this title after the Russian invasion of Ukraine began and uprooted the team's lives. Despite the hardships and tragedy every member of the team no doubt suffered, and all the sacrifices they made, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl was not abandoned and the team pushed on to continue developing the game.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: release date speculation, trailers, gameplay, and more
Dragon's Dogma 2 key art featuring a knight with a fiery hole in their chest.

In a world where even the smallest audiences are being catered to with sequels like Neo: The World Ends With You and No More Heroes 3, there's basically no game that doesn't have a chance to come back in some form. In one of the latest examples, a small but passionate fanbase has been waiting patiently for a sequel to the very ambitious Dragon's Dogma. This action RPG came out next to some stiff competition in 2012, and despite having some great mechanics and systems plus a re-release, it never hit mainstream success. With the creator and director moving on to work on other games, this series was presumed dead for a long time.

As soon as Capcom announced that it would be celebrating the 10-year anniversary of Dragon's Dogma, fans immediately predicted the announcement of a sequel. After all, why else would Capcom celebrate an anniversary for a franchise it had no intention of continuing? As it turns out, we were all correct. Dragon's Dogma 2 is finally being worked on. The excitement of this announcement has spilled out beyond the fans of the original, leading many to wonder why they should be excited about this sequel. For all that and more, here's everything we know about Dragon's Dogma 2.

Death Stranding 2 gets a title, release window, and a bonkers new trailer
Death Stranding 2's mysterious woman.

During PlayStation's January 2024 State of Play presentation, Kojima Productions revealed the full title for its next game: Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. The game will launch for PlayStation 5 in 2025.

Kojima Productions also showed off a new trailer with some wild imagery. It features what seemingly is a corpse being operated on, along with the iconic baby coughing up some sort of ship. Protagonist Sam Porter Bridges is now on a ship called Drawbridge, with a similar goal to what he had in his first adventure: connecting networks together. It looks like Higgs is also returning as an antagonist, this time with a weaponized electric guitar as he fights off some sort of mysterious samurai figure.
