BioWare’s Dragon Age: Inquisition is officially confirmed for release on October 7, as a new gameplay trailer reveals. The two minutes of footage also shows off snippets of the game in action, and it sure does look pretty with the power of that Frostbite 3 engine behind it (the same one that powers Battlefield 4). There’s also a little surprise for longtime fans; we won’t spoil it, just watch the trailer.

October 7 is getting pretty crowded with big-ticket console releases. Dragon Age: Inquisition joins Sega’s outer space horror adventure Alien: Isolation and WB Games’ spin-off return to Tolkien fantasy, Middle-earth: Shadows of Mordor. The center cannot hold. It seems very likely that one of these releases will move at some point. You can probably rule Inquisition right out, because it’s a BioWare sequel that’s coming to PlayStation and Xbox consoles, as well as Windows. So which of the other two do you think will blink first?

If players want to try out the next entry in the Dragon Age franchise on console, they'll have to get their hands on a PS5 or Xbox Series X/S. According to a report from VentureBeat's Jeff Grubb, Dragon Age 4 will be a next-gen only title, marking it as one of few major third-party releases to ditch the PS4 and Xbox One entirely.

Everything we know about Mass Effect 4
A frozen piece of N7 armor.

We only just got confirmation that Mass Effect 4 even exists at last year's Game Awards, but the short trailer was more than enough to inspire a lot of hope, as well as questions, for fans of the series. The original trilogy was one of the most ambitious trilogies of that generation and managed to grow a massive fanbase for a new franchise. The final game's conclusion, regardless of how divisive it was among gamers, was a fairly conclusive wrap up to that entire universe. Since then BioWare has put out another spin-off entry in the form of Mass Effect: Andromeda. This title had a lot to live up to and, bugs and glitches aside, didn't satisfy many of the fans who adored the deep sci-fi lore, intricate character relationships, and meaningful choices found in the first three games.

We only have the one trailer to work off of so far, but here is everything we've been able to piece together about Mass Effect 4.
