Fall Guys gets an Among Us crossover for its futuristic fourth season

Among Us costumes are coming to Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout. The new outfits were revealed in a new trailer, which confirmed a March 22 start date for Season 4.

The crossover combines two of 2020’s biggest indie hits. The video shows a bean dressed as a red crewmate from Among Us plummeting into lava. The visual is accompanied by some text that’ll be familiar to Among Us fans: “Fall Guy was ejected. 1 imposter remains.”

According to IGN, developer Mediatonic hinted that the costumes aren’t just cosmetic. They’ll feature some sort of unannounced perk, though it hasn’t revealed what that means yet. Thisraises the possibility that the skins could have imposter powers inspired by the game. That would be a first for Fall Guys, as costumes have been entirely visual up to this point.

Players can unlock the red crewmate costume through the game’s fame path when Season 4 launches. They’ll have to reach rank 26 to get both the top and bottom half of it.

The trailer gives a close look at what players can expect from the elimination game’s futuristic new season. Set in the year 4041, the update features lots of neon lights and sci-fi costumes. There are seven brand new-stages, which include new hazards like pinball flippers. The biggest change is a new team-based mode called Squad Show. The update also brings crown shards, challenges, and more to the game.

Fall Guys Season 4 starts on March 22. That means players only have one more week to finish grabbing the winter-themed cosmetics in the game’s current season.

Among Us

Among Us is receiving a physical release, which will hit retailers later this year. This version of the multiplayer deduction game will have three versions, each with its own set of extras for diehard fans to enjoy.

Among Us is quite possibly one of the biggest sleeper hits in gaming. The game was initially released in 2018, but didn't gain popularity until 2020. Its social nature and "whodunnit" based gameplay became a hit with major streamers, turning it into a big hit during social lockdowns during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A group of beans running across tilting platoforms.

Epic Games has acquired Mediatonic, the indie studio behind last summer's surprise hit Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout. Epic says that the purchase won't affect future plans to release the game on consoles this summer.

Epic confirmed that it acquired Tonic Games Group, the parent company that owns Mediatonic, in a blog post. Epic CEO Tim Sweeney cites the company's shared commitment to building a "metaverse," a concept Sweeney has long been vocal about, as a driving force behind the deal.
