Images from the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live-action film have been leaked, giving us our first look at one of the turtles and Shredder, thanks to ComicBookMovie. The turtle in question is Leonardo, but more important is our first real look at how the movie will portray any of the turtles.

There is definitely a more “hardcore” look to both Leonardo and Shredder, as compared to the previous movies and animated series.

The film, previously titled just Ninja Turtles and since renamed back to its proper title, will be directed by Jonathan Liebesman (Wrath of the Titans, Battle: Los Angeles) and produced by Michael Bay. Megan Fox will appear as April O’Neil and William Fichtner plays Shredder. The rest of the main cast, including Splinter and the turtles, will be filmed with actors in motion capture suits, then covered in heaps of CGI.

Principal filming concluded in August 2013, with reshoots taking place throughout November and December. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on August 8, 2014.

UPDATE: The images have been removed at the request of Paramount.

TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge keeps the combos rolling
April and Leo high-five in TMNT: Shredder's Revenge

There aren't many things that feel as good in games as a long combo. Taking a single enemy and beating them with a chain of attacks that they can't get away from is the basis of an entire genre of videos on YouTube. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge takes that concept, like so many other 2D brawlers do, and ups the ante a bit. Instead of performing a combo on one person, you're beating the snot of out a group of people, moving on to another after one drops unconscious.
