Fortnite challenge guide: Hit an opponent within 10 seconds of Zero Point Dashing

With Fortnite season 5, week 12, you’ll have a new set of challenges to complete, giving you more opportunities to earn XP. While most of the challenges for this week require you to visit certain mysterious locations, there’s a tougher one that sends you on a quest to hit opponents within 10 seconds of Zero Point Dashing. Unlike most of this week’s challenges, you can go for this one right away, as it’s separate from the others and has no prerequisites.

However, even if you’re a skilled player, you might not be familiar with Zero Point Dashing, or maybe you’re having trouble striking an enemy after using the move. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to utilize the Zero Point Dash mechanic, and we’ll include tips for landing an attack on an enemy right after initiating the maneuver. Here’s how to hit an opponent within 10 seconds of Zero Point Dashing in Fortnite.

The first thing we recommend doing is to boot up a Team Rumble match — that way you can continuously retry if you get taken out. Then, make a dash for the center of the map where all the pink crystals are. Once you land, we advise picking up a few weapons, such as an SMG or assault rifle. Once you’re geared up, make your way to one of the crystals. Depending on the crystal, you may be able to interact with it, allowing you to consume part of it, granting you temporary powers.

You’ll find these crystals all along this area, but if you can’t find one to consume, simply destroy the larger crystal with your pickaxe to uncover smaller ones that you can interact with. Once you consume a crystal, you’ll have a temporary aura around your character that lasts around 15 seconds or so. While this is in effect, you’ll be able to use the Zero Point Dash mechanic.

In order to execute it properly, you’ll need to double-tap the jump button. On PlayStation it’s X, on Xbox it’s A, and on Nintendo Switch it’s B. As its name suggests, this move is a quick dash that allows you to get around in the blink of an eye. Now that you know how to use the mechanic, you’ll need to effectively utilize it while around an enemy.

We recommend avoiding consuming a crystal until you see an enemy nearby, which shouldn’t be too difficult since this area is typically busy. The strategy is simple. Hang out right next to a crystal and wait for an enemy to approach. Once they do, consume the crystal and dash toward them. Then, quickly shoot. As long as your shots connect, you’ll gain credit for the challenge. Keep in mind, there are multiple stages to this challenge, requiring you to repeat this process 25 times.

The city-building genre has served a niche audience for the decades since the original Sim City popularized the idea of allowing players to design and manage their own little utopias. With that original franchise on ice, it fell to a newcomer, Cities: Skylines, to take up the mantle as the major player in the genre, and it managed to be a well-received replacement. That title got tons of support from the developers and community, but it finally came time for a sequel to freshen things up. Cities: Skylines II is building on the same foundation as city builders of the past, but it also brings in new features and mechanics that even seasoned city planners will need to wrap their heads around. Whether this is your first time raising a city from scratch or you've poured hundreds of hours into urban design, these are the essential tips and tricks you need to know when starting out in Cities: Skylines II.
Picking your plot

The first major choice you will need to make in Cities: Skylines II is where you want to actually go about building your dream society. At launch, the game comes with six maps to pick between, but this decision carries more weight than just aesthetic differences. Yes, each map has its own look that will determine how your buildings, homes, and even vehicles look, but there are deeper mechanical changes you want to plan for.
