Fortnite challenge guide: Find golden artifacts near The Spire

It’s the start of a new Fortnite season, meaning there are lots of new things to do in Epic’s battle royale. Starting with Fortnite season 6, week 1, you’ll have a handful of new challenges to complete. With the beginning of a new season, you’ll find substantial map changes, one of which is a new location called The Spire. This area is home to three golden artifacts, and you need to collect all of them to complete one of this week’s challenges.

These golden artifacts are cleverly hidden around The Spire, but we’ve got the locations of all three of them. In this guide, we’ll walk you through where to find all three artifacts, along with tips to make it as easy as possible. Here’s where to find golden artifacts near The Spire in Fortnite.

Above is a map featuring the general locations of the three artifacts at The Spire (courtesy of Fortnite.gg). Since this area has a lot of verticality, the map isn’t as useful as you’d expect, but it’s better than nothing. To make things easier, we highly recommend attempting this challenge in a Team Rumble match; that way, you can spawn back in if you get eliminated. It also seems to be less busy at The Spire during a Team Rumble match than if you play one of the battle royale modes, so keep that in mind, as well.

And as with most challenges, this one’s cumulative, meaning your progress carries over from match to match. So don’t worry if you get eliminated before collecting all three since you can pick up where you left off in a separate match. And with that, let’s get into the locations of each artifact below.

You can collect the artifacts in any order, but the first one we grabbed is located in a small room just beneath the base of The Spire itself. It’s on the north side of this area, and it’s found right next to the stone steps that lead up the monument. You’ll have to break down the wooden wall that leads to this llama artifact.

Next up, head to the lower level of The Spire on the eastern side where you’ll find a few different stands. The large stand on the north side of this area features a llama on the ground, next to a basket.

Third artifact

Finally, head up the steps on the south side of the previous area and you’ll come to the next floor. Turn right and then you’ll come to a large room where the golden artifact can be found in a small area next to some barrels. This time, it’s a hula cat instead of a llama. After you’ve collected all three (in any order), you’ll complete the challenge and gain 24,000 XP for your troubles.

Where to find Vendetta Flopper in Lego Fortnite
Characters fishing in LEGO Fortnite.

The fishing update to Lego Fortnite added, you guessed it, the ability to fish once you've made yourself a rod. Of course, since fish didn't exist in the game before this, an entire school of undersea life needed to be created. Every fish you can catch has a different benefit, from restoring a bunch of health when you eat it to giving you some kind of buff. The rarest and most useful fish is certainly the Vendetta Flopper, making it the most coveted catch in the game. While fishing is still heavily dependent on luck, you won't even have a chance at this fish unless you know where to cast your line.
Where to find the Vendetta Flopper

Before you even attempt to attempt this legendary catch, make sure you're ready with an Epic fishing rod and Epic Bait Bucket to give yourself the best chance at a rare catch. The nest step is to only cast into the glowing purple zones that indicate the presence of rare fish. Fishing in any other part of the water won't yield the Vendetta Flopper we're after.
