Fortnite season 6, week 1 challenges and how to complete them

Season 6 of Fortnite is here and, as you might expect, week 1 is ripe with a slew of new challenges to check off your list. With it being the start of a new season, many of the challenges pertain to new mechanics that have just been introduced. For starters, this new update comes with a crafting mechanic, which adds a substantial change to the way many will approach certain situations. Along with that are the wild animals that spawn throughout the map, in addition to map alterations.

There are challenges that correspond to all of these mechanics, so you might be stumped on how to complete them since these features are brand new to the game. In this guide, we’ll go through each and every one of the new week 1 challenges, and we’ll provide more details on getting through some of the trickier ones. Here are Fortnite’s season 1, week 6 challenges and how to complete them.

We always recommend to at least take a glance at a new set of challenges so you can make a mental note of what you need to do for the week. Many of the quests pertain to crafting, which you’ll likely do anyway, while others might be trickier.

Below is a list of week 1’s new challenges:

  • Hunt Wildlife
  • Craft Primal weapons using bones and makeshift weapons
  • Craft a Hunter’s Cloak
  • Talk to characters
  • Collect mechanical parts from vehicles, trailers, buses, or tractors
  • Craft mechanical weapons using mechanical parts and a makeshift weapon
  • Find golden artifacts near The Spire
  • Craft items

Since so many of them involve crafting, you’ll want to spend a lot of time gathering resources and experimenting with different combinations of materials. It’s not hard, but it is a new feature, so it’ll take a bit of time to get used to. You’ll want to familiarize yourself with the new resources like animal bones and mechanical parts, along with the weapons that spawn on the ground.

Here are guides on some of the harder challenges for week 1 of season 6.

And those are the harder challenges you might be stuck on for the first week of Fortnite season 6. Fortunately, the challenges aren’t too difficult — they just require some knowledge of the game’s new crafting system, which is easy to master after a few matches.

Can you fix the Fortnite servers not responding error?
Nanner Ringer emote in Fortnite

The last thing you want to see when loading up Fortnite for a match with your friends, especially when a big new update is dropping, is to be hit with an error. The worst of which might be the "Fortnite servers not responding" error due to how vague it is. Most people don't know what servers are, let alone what it means when they aren't responding, except that you can't play your game. The question then becomes if you have any power to solve this issue yourself or if you're forced to wait until Epic Games addresses it on its end.
Can you fix the servers not responding error in Fortnite?

The first thing to do when encountering this error in Fortnite is to go straight to the Epic Games Help website or X account (formerly Twitter). This will let you know if it is something on Epic Games' end that is the issue and also keep you updated on the status of when the servers are expected to be fixed. Servers can also be taken down for maintenance or in preparation for major updates, which will also be accounted for here. If this is the case, there's nothing to do but wait until they announce the servers are back up and running.

How many skins are in Fortnite?
Fortnite characters by a car.

With each new Fortnite season comes a slew of new cosmetics to earn through the Battle Pass or to purchase in the item shop. With the game being out for nearly six years, the number of skins in the game has grown to absurd levels. No longer will you run into a match of solo players wearing similar skins. Between regular releases of skins and special event skins involving IPs like Star Wars, Street Fighter, Marvel, and more, every player has a very unique locker full of cosmetics to bust out in a given match.

These days, it's almost more likely you'll run into a skin you've never seen before than a player using the same one as you!
