Fortnite challenge guide: Search the farm for clues

Fortnite season 7, week 4 is now here, and as usual, it comes with a slew of new challenges for you to complete. Once again, this week’s challenges are a bit trickier than you might be used to, as most of them require you to visit certain unmarked locations on the map to find collectibles. While these aren’t necessarily difficult, you might be stuck when trying to complete them. One in particular is for searching the farm for clues.

As you can tell from the challenge’s description, it isn’t very specific. Luckily, the requirements for this objective aren’t too hefty, so once you know where to go, you can complete it quickly. In this guide, we’ll show you everything you need to know about finishing this quest. Here’s how to search the farm for clues in Fortnite.

In total, there are four clues to find around the farm area. Clues are represented by little magnifying glasses that can be picked up. The spot you’ll want to go to is the island just east of Corny Complex. Reference the map above for more details (thanks, Fortnite.gg). For the challenge itself, you only need to find two out of the four clues, which will save you some time. As with most collectibles, you can grab these in any order and across multiple matches. Though, you shouldn’t have too many issues getting two in one match, unless you’re extremely unlucky.

In cases when other enemies are around you, we recommend hiding inside the house in the center to wait for them to leave, or to perhaps find a weapon to defend yourself with. And as always, we advise attempting this with a squad so your teammates can watch your back as you hunt for clues in this area.

Below are the specific locations of each clue in the farm area.

The first one is to the southwest, close to the water by some rocks. It’s close to the little bridge that connects the island to Corny Complex.

Next up, head to the southernmost cornfield in this area. On the northeastern side of the cornfield is a red tractor, with the clue right behind it.

You can find the following clue directly north of the house in the center. The clue is found on the top of a hill by some trees.

And the final one is north of the previous, across the river and next to some branches.

After you’ve found two of the four clues, you’ll gain credit for completing the challenge.

Sea of Thieves alliances guide: how to join and benefits
Two ships fighting in Sea of Thieves.

There are ways in which you could play as a solo pirate in Sea of Thieves, but adventuring is so much more fun and rewarding when you're part of a crew. Once you've gotten a handle on how to play the game, taking on voyages and attacking other players with fellow pirates is where the real fun begins. Alliances make it much easier to coordinate and team up with your fellow scallywags, but how you form them and all the benefits they can provide are somewhat obfuscated. It isn't as simple as joining a party through a menu like in other games, so follow our treasure map to learn all about how alliances work in Sea of Thieves.
How to join or start an alliance

Alliances aren't made in menus, but require you to do some work in-game. Just like real pirates, alliances are determined by what flag you're flying. When you're sailing near a ship you want to partner up with, climb up your crow's nest and interact with the flag box. Go to the Alliances tab and choose the Offer Alliance flag. If the other ship is also flying that flag, you can then change your flag to the Join Alliance flag to fully form the alliance. There is no limit on how many ships can be in an alliance at once in one game.

Can you fix the Fortnite servers not responding error?
Nanner Ringer emote in Fortnite

The last thing you want to see when loading up Fortnite for a match with your friends, especially when a big new update is dropping, is to be hit with an error. The worst of which might be the "Fortnite servers not responding" error due to how vague it is. Most people don't know what servers are, let alone what it means when they aren't responding, except that you can't play your game. The question then becomes if you have any power to solve this issue yourself or if you're forced to wait until Epic Games addresses it on its end.
Can you fix the servers not responding error in Fortnite?

The first thing to do when encountering this error in Fortnite is to go straight to the Epic Games Help website or X account (formerly Twitter). This will let you know if it is something on Epic Games' end that is the issue and also keep you updated on the status of when the servers are expected to be fixed. Servers can also be taken down for maintenance or in preparation for major updates, which will also be accounted for here. If this is the case, there's nothing to do but wait until they announce the servers are back up and running.

How many skins are in Fortnite?
Fortnite characters by a car.

With each new Fortnite season comes a slew of new cosmetics to earn through the Battle Pass or to purchase in the item shop. With the game being out for nearly six years, the number of skins in the game has grown to absurd levels. No longer will you run into a match of solo players wearing similar skins. Between regular releases of skins and special event skins involving IPs like Star Wars, Street Fighter, Marvel, and more, every player has a very unique locker full of cosmetics to bust out in a given match.

These days, it's almost more likely you'll run into a skin you've never seen before than a player using the same one as you!
