The Forza Motorsport 6 NASCAR expansion is now available for download via the Xbox Marketplace for $20.
Players who pick up the expansion will get access to 24 NASCAR cars from the 2016 NASCAR season, complete with digital re-creations of their real-world drivers and wraparound sponsorship branding. After installing the new DLC, all modes in Forza Motorsport 6 will be updated to feature NASCAR-themed Rivals, Leagues and multiplayer hoppers.
The expansion also unlocks the oval-shaped Homestead-Miami Speedway racetrack for play in all modes. NASCAR newcomers, meanwhile, can catch up on the association’s history and underlying technology via a series of included “Voices of Motorsport” featurettes narrated by NASCAR drivers Jimmie Johnson, Kurt Busch, and Chase Elliott.
In addition to digitally re-creating real-world NASCAR races, Forza Motorsport 6‘s latest expansion presents a series of fantasy scenarios via its included NASCAR World Tour career mode. Missions in the new campaign put players in control of NASCAR stock cars as they take on Australian V8s, WEC prototypes, and other vehicles in high-stakes races around the world.
Other gameplay additions hitting Forza Motorsport 6 this week include rolling starts, a new Quick Stop mode, and “a more complex drafting model” that will ensure more competitive races, according to series developer Turn 10 Studios.
Forza Motorsport 6‘s NASCAR expansion follows up on the recent announcement of Forza Motorsport 6: Apex, a stripped-down Windows 10 port supported by microtransactions. Forza Motorsport 6: Apex is currently in beta, and new modes, features, and playable vehicles will be added in the months ahead as development progresses. A public release for Forza Motorsport 6: Apex is scheduled for mid-2016.
