Gears of War 3 beta to be released with Bulletstorm

Although Gears of War 3 has been delayed from its original April 2011 release date until sometime in the fourth quarter, fans of the series will be able to gain early access to the beta—as long as they purchase the special edition of Epic’s upcoming game, Bulletstorm.

Bulletstorm is a third person shooter that allows you to gain experience which unlocks upgrades, as you wade through wave after wave of enemy. Check out the trailer for a look at the fast paced action shooter from Epic and developer People Can Fly, which releases early next year.

Along with the beta access to Gears of War 3’s multiplayer, you will also receive 25,000 experience points, visual upgrades to the “leash” (a key weapon in the game), a powerful weapon called the “Peace Maker Carbine”, and a set of boots and armor.

Although the beta offer is only for the Xbox 360 (as is Gears of War 3, which remains a Microsoft exclusive), Bulletstorm will be released on the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on February 22, 2011 in the U.S.

PlayStation released a sizzle reel trailer today highlighting many of the announced games players that can expect in 2024. While the release windows of many of them were already known -- some like The Last of Us Part II Remastered and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown launch in just a couple of weeks -- two games did just have their release windows confirmed in this video. The games in question are Konami's remakes of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Silent Hill 2.

Dishonored 3: release date window, rumors, and more

The Dishonored series has always been a critical darling and it has cultivated a small, but passionate fanbase. The original game got some DLC, a sequel in Dishonored 2, and one last entry called Death of the Outsider in 2017, but since then the franchise has remained dormant. The studio's latest game, Deathloop, shares some DNA with Dishonored, but is certainly its own beast. However, since the success of that new IP far exceeded anything Dishonored had achieved, many fans felt we'd never return to Dunwall to see the conclusion of the story. Thanks to the recent leak of some court documents related to the Activision purchase by Xbox, which owns Dishonored publisher Bethesda, new hope has appeared for the existence of Dishonored 3.
Release window

According to the leaked documents, which we should still take with skepticism until an official public statement is made, Dishonored 3 is currently planned for a "FY24E" release. FY24E is shorthand for Fiscal Year 2024, which runs between April 2024 and March 2025. Again, things are likely to change, if they haven't already, but this is at least a good starting point to predict the earliest we might see it.
Platforms
Again, this is just speculation until the game is officially confirmed, but considering that Xbox owns publisher Bethesda, Dishonored 3 is almost certainly going to be an Xbox console exclusive with a PC port. It should also be available as a day one Game Pass title, as all Xbox first party titles are.
Trailers
As mentioned, Dishonored 3 isn't even meant to be known about publicly yet, so no marketing exists for the game. All we have is the name.

Dune: Spice Wars: release date window, trailer, news, and more

As Frank Herbert famously wrote, fear is the mind-killer, but after decades of waiting, gamers can finally put their fears aside as there's a new Dune game on the horizon. There was a litany of reveals and announcements at the 2021 Game Awards, but perhaps the least expected was Dune: Spice Wars from developer Shiro Games. While excitement is surging again for this franchise thanks to the new films adapting Herbert's world-renowned sci-fi novels, no one was expecting a tie-in game to be announced, let alone one following in the footsteps of the classic Dune II: The Building of a Dynasty from way back in 1992.

While the origins of most genres are muddled at best, it is almost undisputed that Dune 2: The Building of a Dynasty was the first true real-time strategy game. That makes it all the more appropriate for Dune: Spice Wars to return to the genre, and Shiro Games, developers of Northgard, seems like a great fit to bring this series back.
